WNS @ Vancouver Lake Sailing Club!!

Summer sailing on the Columbia is off to a strong start. In addition to our popular Wednesday Night Sails, our members are busy racing sailboats, cruising, taking classes, attending our coffee and NautiDrinks, and planning for our two summer social events. All of these activities are listed on our OWSA calendar.

The first activity on June 24th is our offsite Wednesday Night Sail at Vancouver Lake Sailing Club (VLSC). This collaborative afternoon and evening will feature sailing on small sailboats for shorter durations. This activity is especially fun for our members who are newest to sailing. There will be more fun on the lake, as members may bring their canoes, kayaks, sailboards, paddleboards and other floaty toys. We chose a day close to the summer solstice for maximum daylight and invite you to arrive as early as 4 pm to have extended time for fun. Parking is limited, members are invited to carpool through our registration page.

We have access to a lawn for games, refrigerators to store your salads and dessert until our potluck serving time, and a barbecue. There will be tables inside the clubhouse and outdoors for our meal. VLSC has a tradition of collecting $1 for hotdogs and $2 for burgers. Your voluntary contribution will help offset their costs of hosting the event. OWSA will provide an ice cream bar at a cute boat bar close on land to the waters edge. The website registration page has options to volunteer to help with a variety of tasks.
