New Boat Joins the OWSA Fleet ... Welcome River Rose

OWSA received a generous donation to the OWSA fleet. The donation is River Rose, a 27 Catalina with an inboard diesel engine. This vessel is currently located on Walk 4 at Rose City Yacht Club. At the December 3rd Board meeting with the full Board represented we discussed and accepted River Rose. River Rose comes ready to sail. We will be using her in the 2026 BOAST program and are currently considering her use in an intermediate sailing program. If you would like to learn the basics of caring for a diesel engine and would like to cruise on the Columbia, sign up for OWSAS BOAST (Boat Ownership and Skipper Training) program.

Robin Smith and Julie Schumann have agreed that with this acquisition they would co-host BOAST for the 1986 sailing season. With our history of sailing skills we will offer our time to make sure the BOAST members get regular time scheduled on the water this 2026 sailing season.
