    Learn or review the basics of sailing in a fun and supportive classroom atmosphere. OWSAs convenient evening classes introduce nautical terminology, points of sail, basic navigation rules, weather, safety, knot tying, chart plotting and more over 7 weeks.     Alice Patten Honored With Lifetime OWSA Membership Award

    Over the past 30 years OWSA has grown into an organization with ~250 members, teaching women to sail and providing opportunities to build their sailing skills and network to get more time on the water.     Success Through the OWSA Cruising Study Groups

    Led by Cruising Coordinator Julie Demaree, another cohort of OWSA women participated in Cruising Study Groups during the 2023/24 winter. In May, two members of the daytime Study Group, Debra Burke and Rosemary Reeves, along with OWSA member Bernadette LeLevier completed certification for American Sailing Association courses ASA 101, ASA 103, and ASA 104 through the San Juan Sailing School.  This accomplishment was achieved after roughly 5 months of
