Introducing: The OWSA Ambassador Program

The OWSA Ambassador Program is designed to welcome and support new members by pairing them with experienced, long-time members for the entire 2026 season. This one-year commitment fosters meaningful connections, encourages personal growth, and strengthens our community both on and off the water.
Building Connections
At the heart of the Ambassador Program is mentorship and camaraderie. Each new member is thoughtfully matched with a seasoned member who serves as a guide, resource, and friendly face throughout the year. Ambassador pairs are encouraged to check in with each other at least once a month and to decide together on the best way to stay connected, whether by text, email, phone, or another preferred method. Members may choose to create a Sailing Vision Board to guide their year.
The goal is simple: consistent communication, mutual encouragement, and a shared commitment to making the most of the OWSA experience.
Sharing Experiences On and Off the Water
Ambassador pairs are encouraged to participate in OWSA activities together. While optional, these shared experiences help build stronger bonds and create lasting memories. Opportunities include:
- Attending social events
- Volunteering at OWSA events
- Signing up for a Wednesday Night Sail (WNS) or a Saturday Sail
Sailing side by side and contributing to club events not only builds confidence and skills but also deepens each members sense of belonging.
Growing Together
Above all, the Ambassador Program is about positivity, encouragement, and building community. By committing to support one another throughout the year, members help create a welcoming, engaged, and vibrant OWSA for everyone.
