Site Help: Using the Sailing Club Manager Logbook

Published 4:39pm on 5 Nov 2024

In order to gain credentials, or to introduce yourself to a prospective skipper/crew, a sailing log is a usual mechanism people use to establish their sailing experience.

The member portal on the owsa.net website includes a logbook section.

The My boats section should only be used if you personally own a boat, not to track boats on which youve sailed. If you add a boat to your profile through My boats, it adds it to our Sailing Club Manager database and it will be difficult to determine who owns the boat.

The My logbook allows you to enter information regarding your sailing trips, but you can only add a boat or crew if that information is established in the Sailing Club Manager. (Weve submitted a Feature Request to improve the logbook.)

Alternatively, we recommend you use an app, like SailTies to track your adventures. With the free version of SailTies you can join the OWSA group, GPS track your route and share your route with other sailors.

My qualifications is used by some members to track non-OWSA training or other qualifications. We will be asking BOAST members to use this feature for their Boater Education records, a BOAST requirement. If you do use My qualifications please attach a copy of the record you are submitting as proof of completion.

Example of My qualifications: Kathy has one record, an Oregon Boater Education Card and could submit additional qualifications using the Add a qualification/record. A jpg image of Kathys Boater Education Card is attached.
