Wednesday Night Sail WNS...

Published 2:04pm on 7 Oct 2022

… building the OWSA community.

As I look back on a successful 2022 WNS season I keep thinking how lucky we are to have OWSA. We had 14 VOLUNTEER skippers that participated this year for a total of 12 weeks of sails. One week we had 10 boats and 29 ladies going out. Thank you skippers! WNS is for everyone. Beginners come to start their sailing experience, meet people in OWSA and the sailing  community. Intermediate and advanced ladies are welcome and appreciated! I like to see a mix of skill levels on the boats. More experienced crew members help the skippers and are ambassadors for OWSA, helping to mentor new members.

I am always looking for new skippers. I would love to see more OWSA members as WNS skippers. If you have a boat I would love to talk to you about what you need to be comfortable as a WNS skipper. I believe many of you already have the skills. Do you need an experienced crew member (First Mate) to help you? Practice docking? I understand it is one thing to take out your normal experienced crew versus beginners. I am willing to work with you! If you are a more experienced sailor and are willing to work with me to get crew together to build more experienced and confident OWSA skippers … PLEASE contact me!
