FIRST MATE CERTIFICATION WITH OWSA

OWSA is looking for a Coordinator for this Program !! This is a great way to get involved with OWSA and work with enthusiastic sailors who have a bit more experience.

OWSA First Mates are a special breed.  They want to help and they know how.  They have developed their sailing skills to a level where they are qualified to assist on Wednesday Night Sails, Saturday Sails and other OWSA on-the-water activities.  First Mates share their knowledge with the students on board and support the skipper.

Each sailing outing has unique qualities the First Mate is trained to handle.  The First Mate demonstrates teamwork and respect for sailing best practices while sharing her joy of being out on the water under sail.

Currently OWSA is looking for a First Mate Co-ordinator to bring all our talent together, help update the program and communicate with connected OWSA Programs. The First Mates program is under the Education umbrella and the FM Co-ordinator works with the Education Director.
