Happy fall to everyone! Annual Tropical Party: November 3rd: OCSA is looking forward to the annual Tropical Party coming up on November 3rd at Warehouse 23 in Vancouver.Registration is now open on the SailPDX.org website. Trophies will be presented by OCSA, CYC, SYSCO and RCYC. Come and join area racers for a season wrap-up and celebration of great racing on the Columbia River. There are a few things that we want you to be aware of. - Register on the SailPDX website and pay with credit card. Registration is found under the "Racing" tab, "Event Notices and Registration ".
- Registration closes October 26th - Register early!!!
- Tropical Party venue change: This year, we will be having the party at Warehouse 23 in Vancouver.
- The event starts earlier – Cocktails at 5pm, dinner and awards at 6pm.
- PYC will be presenting their awards at their Sailor's Dinner in April, next year.
OCSA reluctantly changed venues from PYC to Warehouse 23 after realizing that the dinner needed more space. OCSA is experimenting with trying a new spot and we are hopeful that this will give us plenty of room. We are grateful for all of years we've had the party at PYC and for their support of OCSA. OCSA Awards: Voting for the annual OCSA awards is now online. Nominate your choice for Sailor of the Year, Good Times, Welcome Slough, and US Sailing Sportsmanship awards. Nominations are located under the "About OCSA" tab, "OCSA Awards", in red on the right hand side. Nominations will be considered, and the awards will be given out at the Tropical Party. CYC Sailing on Sundays: Starting Oct 14th: The Sailing on Sundays series will be held each week with breaks around Thanksgiving and the holidays. CYC invites all interested skippers and crew to participate in a "for fun" race series on the Columbia River between the I-5 and I-205 bridges. New sailors and racers are especially encouraged to join. This is a multiple week series with one race scheduled each Sunday. This casual race series was started as an excuse for sailors to get out on the water through the winter months. The event has attracted a variety of racers and cruisers who all share in a desire for sailing and light-hearted competition. Come join in the fun!
