BOAST Member Spotlight: Julie Cumiford
From beginner sailor to boat owner, Julie (one of four OWSA Julies) joined BOAST last year, intent on becoming more comfortable with being in charge of a boat. OWSA Acquires a New Sailboat - The Calypte
OWSA maintains a small fleet of sailboats on the Columbia for use in educational programs including classes on sailing & boat maintenance and for the BOAST Program. The exciting news is that we have acquired a new sailboat, the Calypte -- an Ericson 27 that was built in 1973. OWSA Receives "Grow Boating" Award
OWSA Receives "Grow Boating" Award The Grow Boating Committee of the Northwest Marine Trade Association has awarded 10 grants of $1,000 each to Pacific Northwest organizations for 2023 - and OWSA is one of those organizations. BOAST 2021 Winterization Day
An interesting part of the BOAST program is about maintaining the OWSA sailboats. Our BOAST program director, Meredith Hall, and our fleet manager, Kiki, lead the way, as many of the BOAST members were able to come down for the winterization day in late November, with many hands making for fun, light work.
