PYC Opening Day Regatta
INVITATION TO RACE
INVITATION: The Portland Yacht Club invites all eligible boats to participate in the PYC Opening Day Regatta on the Columbia River between I-5 & I-205 bridges.
ELIGIBILITY AND INSTRUCTIONS: The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing and the OCSA General Sailing Instructions. The regatta is open to all boats sailing in a One-Design, Level, Cruising, or PHRF classes. A minimum of three boats is required to constitute a level fleet or one-design class. PHRF entrants must hold a current PHRF certificate.
DATE & TIME: Sunday, April 14. The first warning signal is scheduled for 1200. REGISTRATION: Eligible boats may enter by completing the online entry form at www.sailpdx.org Event Notice Board & Registration menu and submitting it with the required fee. Registrations will be accepted until 1730 hours, April 12. FEES: Entry fees are $10 for PYC members and $25 for non-PYC members. CLASS DIVISIONS: Classes for the event are determined based on registrants, with input from fleet captains.
COURSES: The racing areas for this series are specified in the OCSA Sailing Instructions, Provision 7. The courses are specified in Provision 8, and the marks are specified in Provision 9. COMMUNICATION: All boats shall carry a VHF radio capable of communicating on channels 16, 68, and 72.
PRIZES: Prizes will be given based upon the number of entries in a class.
