Instructor: Lilli Matke
A little about our instructor, Lilli began her sailing career in 2016 with a basic sailing course at a local sailing club, joining their race group right away.
She is an avid and enthusiastic racer, I have raced with various different crews on various different boats on the Columbia every week since then. Including the PNW Offshore and Swiftsure races in 2019.
In 2022 Lilli got licensed by the Coast Guard with OUPV Marines Credentials and got certified as an ASA instructor. In August 2022, she completed her first ocean crossing, sailing SV Rage as crew of 6, from Oahu to Seattle.
In the spring of 2023 she began teaching ASA 101 courses with Passion Yachts in Portland.
As a brand new Merit 25 owner she is looking forward to joining our racing community as a racing skipper next summer.
The foredeck is where Lilli feels the most comfortable and she is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion with the woman of OWSA
