County Bridge Operations Coordinator Aysha Ghazoul grew up in Mosul Iraq until she was eight. She then moved with her family to Manchester England where she remained until she graduated from college with a degree in Business and Finance. She moved to Portland Oregon in 1994 to study film at the Northwest Film Center.  After deciding not to pursue that career, she worked for Multnomah County library as a Page, but five years later she took advantage of her business degree to open a bar on Alberta Street. Exhausted from working 16 hours a day, seven days a week, she was next hired for a marketing position with a large company but this quickly made her realize that corporate America wasn't her thing. She's been with Multnomah County Bridge Section since 2018 starting out as an on-call bridge operator and then becoming the Lead and finally the Bridge Operations Coordinator . Fluent in Arabic, she takes every opportunity to put her native language to use. She kayaks, is an avid jigsaw-puzzler, loves to travel and above all, loves watching over the city from her perch.
