Saturday Sail 9-23-17

Published 3:42pm on 19 Sep 2017

Saturday Sail!

Our Final *regularly* scheduled Saturday Sail is this weekend! (9-23-17) Saturday forecast is fog in the morning, sunny afternoon, high of 70, always a stretch to predict weather around here, this far in advance. Bring layers. Hail to the hearty sailor!

Crazy Winter Sail Plan: I will attempt to pull a sail together once a month through the winter. I will start at the beginning of the month, check weather forecast, and decide if it looks possible. So, you will get emails intermittently, along with questions that I am curious about your answers. Always looking to strengthen the program. Never hold back on me.

Timing! The Saturday Sail Tradition is to have each skipper set the time of sail for their own boat. As crew, you just be available roughly noon to 6pm. The skipper may want to check conditions Friday night, make a determination, and then send out an email. Or, maybe they just have noon to 3 available, and they want to go for it. Be prepared to be flexible if you sign up.

Note to all Skippers! Tell me what skills sets you want on your boat. I can do it. If you already know what time you want to go out, you can let me know, or give me your plan to know. I am posting known info by boat/skipper on the crew list.

Note to all Crew! Print out the First Mate check list found at owsa.net and reflect on what you know, and don't know, yet. The first time I read it, I probably understood 50%, or less. It is a great list. You can grow with this list.

Want to sail on Saturday? Try signing up online, the directions are below. You can always send me an email reply with your requests. No problem.

Sign ups are on! Sign up if you want to sail on Saturday, then hang on until Thursday evening, when I post the SATURDAY SAIL crew lists. If you have any questions, ask away. I will do my best.

Your WNS Chair,

Carisa
